Just some landscapes from my visit to Badlands National Park last year… Including a couple from my last day there when the haze and smoke from the Canadian wildfires rolled in.
I recently got word that my friend Katherine completed her scuba instructor certification and I also got word that my friend Eric successfully underwent a surgery, which made me think about PNW diving… so here are the rest of the Pacific Spiny Lumpsucker photos from…
These first couple are from Mesquite Flat Sand Dunes – and I have to admit that this is what I was expecting to see more of when I first though of visiting deserts, but this is the first set of “proper” sand dunes I’ve encountered.…
Finishing up the last of my fish photos from when I was last in Bali. I really do need to get back there soon!
The Grizzlies usually take the majority of the attention while in the Grand Tetons, but Black Bears are just as nice to see.
Just some spring wild flowers from when I visited Great Smoky Mountains National Park earlier this year…
It was exactly a year ago today that I took these videos of these very young Bighorn Sheep – or as I like to call them, Little Bighorns. If you look closely, some of them still have their umbilical cord attached.
This colorful Fringeback Dondice (Dondice occidentalis) was found during one of the dives on my most recently Florida visit.

I still need to get some better photos of Surf Scoters. They’re weird looking birds with those oversized bills, but I still find them cool. They tend to stay pretty far out in the water, so I’ve found it tough to get any good close…
I am not sure why these photos have such a dreamlike feel to them. I don’t know if it is because of where they were taken – in the middle of Death Valley NP at Badwater Basin. Or if it is just the soft pinks…
I did not originally think a visit to Carlsbad Caverns National Park would be worth it, but on (another) recommendation from my friend Dawn, I made a point to add it to my itinerary for my drive east towards Florida, and I am quite glad…
Apologies for the month long hiatus… I will try to get back into a routine, but as usual when these hiatuses happen – no promises. When I was in Florida recently, one of the critters getting a lot of attention at the Blue Heron Bridge…
I’ve seen Red-orange Ghost Shrimp (Corallianassa longiventris) several times, and I’ve learned that the only way to see anything more than the tips of their claws and their face is you have to tempt them out with something to eat. I managed the first shot…
