This Palm Warbler was nice and cooperative to let me get some good close shots…
Something I was not expecting to see while in Saguaro National Park was raptors. I mean it makes sense once you’re there and see how much wildlife – especially birds – is actually in the park. It is still desert, but it was significantly more…
Somehow I have not yet posted any photos from my stop in Badlands NP? To be honest, my time there was a bit less than I had hoped it would be. After adjusting my time in Yellowstone and hitting Grand Tetons a bit earlier, I…
On my way to Yellowstone NP, I stopped in a small area north of Hebgen Lake – my car’s GPS really wanted me to take a different route, but I decided that this road looked more promising and I was not disappointed. I actually returned…
Sorry – I am being extremely lazy about processing new photos, so you’ll have to make do with some more from the archives. Today we’ll look at some shots of some Yellow-bellied Marmots (Marmota flaviventris) taken on a hike at Jenny Lake in Grand Teton…

It isn’t often that birds swim *towards* you, but this Common Murre decided to swim over and take a closer look at my GoPro…
One of the things I tried to capture while diving in the Mexican cenotes was the silhouettes against the blue waters of the openings…
Manta Rays are super huge and super cool…
This wasn’t the first time I had seen Spinner Dolphins (I saw them while in Timor Leste), but this was my first time seeing dolphins in the water while on a dive. We had seen the dolphins swimming around the bay when we first arrived…
The sunset today was pretty epic… Purple Cascades, orange Rainier, and tons of color over the Olympics… Cell phone camera doesn’t do it justice, but here they are just the same…
While in Playa we went on a dive to see Bull Sharks, which was another new-to-me species to see.
