During a hike in Grand Mesa, I came across a couple of these strange areas of rocks. They looked like they had at one point been little ponds, but they were quite dry now… but the weird thing was that it didn’t look like the rocks were on top of the dirt and grass, nor did it look like the dirt and grass settled on top of the rocks… it seriously looked like the rocks had kind of “bubbled” up from underneath the dirt and grass. It was really strange and hard to explain and even harder to photograph in such a way that it portrays what it was like to stand there among the rocks…
