Apparently IDing pipefish is extremely difficult and my book basically says for a full positive ID it requires the specimen to be caught so fin rays and other anatomical features can be counted in detail. But it does list one category labeled as Diamond Pipefish, which this one definitely seems to fit the bill on with those distinct diamonds along its side.
