This first sign I photographed at a rest area along my drive to Florida (I can’t remember if it was in Georgia or Florida), but as soon as I saw it I got a little chuckle… (sorry, I should have gotten closer to make it easier to read, but I took the photo with the thought of posting it as a “What’s wrong with this picture?” and didn’t want to make it too obvious)…
The reason this made me laugh was because of the difference between “poisonous” and “venomous”. Something that is poisonous is only dangerous if you eat it, and while some truly poisonous snakes have been recently discovered, if you are hurt by one of them, I say you got what you deserve. Venomous on the other hand are animals which can inject a toxin either by a bite, a stinger, or such. That is what is meant – and is properly warned of in this sign from Taiwan…
And then since I’ve been in Florida, I’ve seen signs like this all over the place… but what is funny is that as of when I typed this, I have yet to see a live alligator! (I did see one, but it was roadkill… which honestly is a sad way to see my first wild alligator)
