On my drive to Florida, I stopped at a random state park (Colleton State Park in South Carolina to be precise) to take break and stretch my legs. I didn’t explore too much, but I did walk down to a spot that overlooked the Edisto River, and as I did so, I noticed a pair of skinks basking on a wall along the trail. I decided that was worth making this a longer stop and went back to the car for my camera…
The above photos are of the male which can be identified by the red coloration they acquire on their faces, and that their lines become a bit more indestinct.
The photo below is either a female or more likely a juvenile as noted by the bright blue coloration still evident in its tail…
