So I often try to find and photograph these little crustaceans that live among host crinoids (feather stars). I tried to find a photo that made the crinoid the main subject (other than the one linked above when I was showing them swimming), and I was surprised to find that I have none… unless you want to count the recent underwater landscape or the photos with the ornate ghost pipefish in front of them.
But they really are cool critters, and the fact that they sometimes have these squat lobsters or other shrimp living among their arms makes them even cooler. But… taking photos of these squat lobsters is very difficult. They are shy and hide under the crinoid, and the camera tries to focus on everything but the little guys as they hide.
