I found this gold mine during a hike outside of Ouray, CO. I was fascinated with how the buildings were just stuck to the side of the cliffs and used the steepness to their advantage for the sluice to clear away the waste water from their operations. When you first see it, it isn’t super easy to spot the mine, but luckily I had my telephoto lens with me and was able to get some closer shots.
